Project 857- November 15

Ahh... birthday parties.

These lovely little get-togethers change so much after you stop having birthday parties for yourself and your friends.. and start having them for the toddlers in your life.

Gone are the adult parties where you sat around chatting with good appetizers and a glass of wine.. watching college football on TV or listening to party music..

Now parties are all about trying to talk to your friends for a few seconds before you have to dash off to see what your kid is up too, or spent convincing toddlers to come down from upstairs...

Why do you want to be up there?
You are the only one upstairs.
Madi and your other friends are playing down here.
Why don't you come down and get a snack?
Do you want a snack?
I don't care what Madi has in her room, you can't play up there alone.
Come down here.
Don't make me come get you.

Party music and college football are replaced with Disney movies and kiddie karaoke while nursing in the family room.

It was a very moving rendition of "Twinkle Twinkle"... dedicated to me. Ahh...

At least I still got a glass of wine during the party.. and Austin had a blast celebrating his friend Madi turning 3!!

Oh how life changes.
