Here we are into Fall! Life continues to be busy, and even on days when not much happens, you still look back and realize that so much has gone on. All the little things and small moments...
Ok, before I get too sentimental, here is how we are starting off Fall!
Austin's class just finished up a unit on Families and they asked family members to come visit and read the kids a story. It was fun to see Austin so excited for my visit and my literacy really paid off because on his little art project recapping my visit, he wrote "My Mom is the best because she knows all the words." Haha!
The boys are always up to some shenanigan at home... wearing blankets as capes, oven mitts as boots... and socks as hands. Sock Hands was a really fun game for a night!
A few weeks ago I got to help bring in grapes for a wine harvest! A friend of mine has a co-worker who is part owner of a small winery and they needed volunteers to harvest the Pinot Noir grapes. It was a really cool experience, and we got paid in bottles of wine! I'm just glad I didn't cut myself on the surgical-grade snips they gave us to use.

Austin continues to grow up, despite me telling him to stop. He has been really into listening to music on his headphones lately and says he's been listening to "his jams." He needs to stop looking like he's 16 already!!!
The boys ended up with Doctor appointments on the same day, so I took the day off and went to Owen's 2-year well child visit, and then the Dentist for Austin.
Austin had a clean check-up at the dentist! No cavities, but he does have weak enamel on his teeth, which we've known for awhile. When he got his baby teeth in, they instantly turned a bit brown on the edges. We never knew why, but as I was talking to the Dentist about it, he asked me if I had a rough pregnancy with Austin. I told him yes, I had the whole high blood pressure thing for the last 12 weeks of my pregnancy, protein in my urine, etc. He said they aren't sure why, but kids born to "rough" pregnancies tend to have weaker enamel on their baby teeth, since those teeth are formed in utero. Since their adult teeth don't form until after they are born, his adult teeth should be fine. I thought that was really interesting, and it explains his weak enamel. We just have to keep up on the good brushing and fluoride rinse so those teeth can last until they fall out.
Speaking of Austin, he and are in a bonding phase... he wants Mommy a lot, and wants to cuddle and kiss and hang out with me a lot. So funny how kids swing back and forth like that... so I'll take it while it lasts! He made me a "pwetty necklace" and insisted that I wear it constantly for a few days.
I've been taking weekly yoga classes, thanks to my lovely Kenzie being an instructor! Nothing like having your friend see your terrible form... so the yoga mat has been out a lot, and it's perfect for making kid-burritos!
They are more and more becoming friends... and it's awesome. Sure we have lots of tears still, stealing toys, trouble sharing, pestering... but there is a lot of love there. They always want to be around each other, play with each other and Austin enjoys being the "leader" and showing Owen many new things.
We had a big Fall storm and got cooped up inside for a whole weekend so we made some Halloween cookie! They honestly weren't that great, but batter never disappoints!
One morning Austin told me to wait in the hall because he wanted to "drop himself off" in his room at daycare. He stood for a long time waving out the window at me, then ran back out to me and said he wanted one more hug. There were tears in his eyes and he said "Mommy, I do actually want you to drop me off in the room, ok?" Ok baby. Always. Until you're in college and then it will probably just make you roll your eyes.
