Life Lately- The Last of Fall

Well, Fall came and went very quickly this year. We were busy with Austin playing soccer, and getting out and doing things on all the dry days. Here is how we wrapped up Fall 2017!

I painted my nails one Friday night (a rarity... I hate how long it takes and then it's chipped the next day, feels like a waste...) and the boys wanted theirs painted too!

Matching Mommy!

Our Oregon City Freddy's went through a remodel so they had a Grand Opening in October. Austin loved meeting Fred Bear! The store even has a bar now.... so you know where Neal and I will be having our next date! Haha.

Not the picture of your kid any Mom wants to get while she's out at dinner with a friend. Oh hi there, giant goose egg..... Yikes. Owen, being the clumsy little butt he is, tripped and got this "little" bump but was happy and thankfully it went away quickly. That kid needs a helmet.

We finished up soccer! It was such a good experience for all of us. All the families (and I mean mostly the Moms since women can be standoffish and kinda bitchy...which I experienced with t-ball last Spring) were really nice and welcoming to us, Austin learned some new skills, and made some new friends! They ended the season with a team party at Menchies. The coach said something really thoughtful about each player, and they got a medal!

We are wanting the boys to grow up being supportive of their community, so we went to an Oregon City football game! I don't think they got the concept of "this will be your school one day" but they had fun playing on the bleachers and eating popcorn. Baby steps, I suppose.

The boys (well Austin) had a no school day that Neal happened to have off too, so he kept Owen at home as well. They met me for lunch at my "big cafeteria" in my office and were too busy with their burgers to look up for a picture.

This is the reality when you let your kids play with Play Doh. Picking tiny pieces of Doh off the floor all the time.

So handsome with combed hair! This was Owen's picture day at preschool. I just love them.

The boys went down to Gramma and Grampa's for the weekend right before Neal's birthday and we got some adult time! We walked across the Tilikum Bridge that leads right to the south waterfront. It was an awesomely sunny day!

Meanwhile the boys went on a nature hike with Gramma and Uncle Brian!

We finished our adult weekend with happy hour and a Winterhawks hockey game! It was funner than I thought, when they slam into the walls it's really loud and makes the game exciting.

Austin, my mostly cooperative kid when Mommy wants them to dress up and smile nice!

Owen, my not-so-cooperative kid who had a meltdown over who-knows-what and then literally snapped out of it to say "cheese!!!" as soon as I started taking pictures. The kid needs to be in show business!

Our family picture of 2017 since I couldn't bring myself to spend $300 on professional pictures this Fall.

We took our family pics the night we had Poppa over to celebrate Neal's birthday! Since it was his 35th, I decided to spend way too much on a "good" cake.... it was cute at least! The cake was ok.. the frosting was a bit too much and too thick for my liking though. #NotAFrostingPerson

He's probably wishing I hadn't spent $40 on a cake. haha.

Little one enjoyed it though.. if that's not pure happiness... I don't know what is.

Oh the joy!!!

We love Daddy!!! Looking good for 35!!!

Austin had the ENTIRE week of Thanksgiving off... sigh. Thankfully I had all my personal days left at work and they are "use them or lose them" by the end of the year, so I took the whole week off too. Monday we ran lots of errands!

We had our first Parent/Teacher conference and Austin showed us how he sits right by the teacher! He said it was because he talks too much, his teacher said it was because he wanted his own space and to not be at a table. I think Austin's reason is funnier. We had a great meeting though, and he is doing SO well in school so far!

This is what it looks like when you put on ALL your underwear!!!

It was our year to host Thanksgiving again this year. The food turned out good, I didn't stress over the turkey as much (since I had cooked a turkey before at this point, so I was totally an expert, haha) and we had a nice day with the Glynn/Jack/Hollen fam!!

Even Henry ended up SO FULL and snoozing after!!!

This Fall I started working from home regularly on Wednesdays so I could be home for Austin's early release day... I keep Owen with me most weeks, which has it's challenges. My choices are either drive him all the way into daycare, get 4 hours to work before Austin comes home and then have to go back to daycare for Owen.... or just keep him home and try and entertain him. I choose the latter most of the time. He loves my calculator and calls it his "puter" and works on it while I work on my computer ("puter") too.

I also let him play beauty parlor while I work.

School pictures are my favorite!!! Look at that sweet face!!!
