Project 857- March 28

Busy day... busy busy....

We found out kinda last minute that my parents and Grandma were going to be up to see my brother on Saturday, so we invited ourselves along so the boys could see Gramma, Grampa and Gramama Darlene.

Before it was time to meet the family... we had some adventures at home.

Austin wanted to play his Batman toy on the landing of the stairs... well, he then decided to go up a few stairs and play from there.. learning the hard lesson of why we don't play on the stairs. He tumbled down 2 stairs.

Here is Neal going "what did you learn about playing on the stairs???"
After the stairs tumble, we plunked Austin into the bath, since he hadn't had one in a few days. He wanted lots of bubbles and was pretty delighted with the tub.

Bubbles on the head! So silly.

And then of course here comes Owen.

"What's going on? Whatcha doin? What's happening? Can I join? What's this? Can I eat this? What's this taste like?"

HE IS INTO EVERYTHING.

So he got some bubbles on his head too... so he didn't feel left out.

After the bubbles... Neal put Owen down for a nap (he goes to sleep soooooooo much better if Neal puts him down. Something about that "I'm going to be more cranky with Mommy thing") Austin and I had an intense discussion about his tools.

He likes to take them all out of the bag and tell me what each one is. I'm actually impressed that he knows the monkey wrench, socket wrench, etc.

He also tried to explain to me that this goes "righty tighty" and I got the perfect picture that shows how he talks all the time. Everything is emphasized with a scrunched up nose.

"Dis is righty tighty Mom"

It was time to leave to meet my family and thankfully this happened... because we still had a long day ahead of us..

We met everyone at the barn where my niece keeps her horse so she could show off her riding skills.

Watching cousin ride!

Austin loves the barn, He wants to walk up and down the row of stables and talk about "that pretty horse, and that other horse.. .and we haven't met THIS pretty horse yet!"

He does good putting his hand out for the horses to smell and snuffle at and is just fascinated with them.

My Dad had fun talking to the horses too.

After the barn we headed to lunch and gave Owen some yogurt drops. Neal made a bet that 36 of them would end up on the floor by the time we were done with lunch.

Owen's at a 10:1 ratio of how many drops make it in his mouth.

A grand total of 54 of them ended up on the floor. Yes, we counted because we picked them up. So Owen had a nice lunch of 5 yogurt drops. Ha.

After lunch and hanging at my brother's a bit, we were off to the second half of our day. A friend's son's 2nd birthday party at Munchkin Playland.

This place is AWESOME. I just wish it wasn't so far from our house. Everything is soft and both boys had a blast.

After a few hours of playing and laughing... we headed home. Whew. Long day. We left the house at almost 11am and didn't get home until after 7pm.

Owen went straight to bed and we made a big comfy floor bed and watched The Croods. I was bored for the first 15 mins of the movie but then it got much better and ended up being a pretty cute movie.

Busy Saturday for us!!!
